JMC News: Madison Debaters Receive an Unprecedented Three Invitations to National Tournament

Madison students, seniors Debbie Lai (IR), Varsha Ramakrishnan (IR), and Andrea Reed (IR), and juniors Garrett Abelkop (IR), Amit Bindra (IR), and James Durkee (PTCD), will comprise three teams competing in the National Debate Tournament in Dallas March 30-April 2. MSU is the only public school nationwide to receive three invitations. Besides MSU, five private schools were granted three bids to the tournament. Each year, 78 two-person teams are invited to compete. The Director of Debate for the MSU Debate Team is Madison alumna Greta Stahl (IR ’04).
